Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort is a destination that pushes the boundaries of adventure while letting you escape into a place of quiet solitude. Book for a scuba diving lesson or a dive safari at our Aquamania Center and explore one of the first marine protected preserves in the Philippines located right at the island.
Guests can explore the islands shallow coral reefs or go on a sunset coastal tour in one of our native outrigger boats.
As part of our BlueCARES initiative, we advise all guests to bring their own mask and snorkel set for safety and hygiene purposes.
Sumilon Island is designated as an official marine sanctuary. Its superb visibility, stunning reefs, and abundance of varied tropical marine species provide an ideal and memorable dive. A visit to the resort will be a perfect time to learn the basics of SCUBA from a PADI-certified Expert Instructor.
Explore the island’s calm lagoon and steer through the high mangroves! Test your skills and fish the lagoon waters using the simple but challenging line and hook.
An early morning banca (pumpboat) ride will take you to Tañon Strait, famous for dolphins and migratory whale sightings. The pygmy killer whales are reported to pass through these waters. Spinner dolphins are the most common in the area.
Thereafter, take a lunch break at an idyllic seven-kilometer white sandbar in the middle of the sea and a leisurely snorkel around its clear waters.
The island offers a host of activities specifically designed so that our guests can soak in the beauty of the place.
Evening Dinner Parties are held in a variety of locations every night. Dinner starts at 6:00 PM (Check the Activity Board daily)
On Sumilon Island, try the resort’s unique bamboo gazebo or “payag-payag†with spectacular views of the seas with varying aquamarine hues and nearby islands. It is central to two favorite activities: lounging around or snuggling with your sweetheart.
See all the facets of Sumilon Island from the sea. One can also appreciate crystal clear waters and white sand views. During the trip, one is encouraged to help feed the resident tropical fishes.
The resort is surrounded by the opportunity to engage in a host of different exploits. The surrounding communities and areas is a place where one can soak on unique experiences and to truly appreciate the beauty of the islands.
One of the country’s natural wonders is the exceptional horseshoe waterfall of Tumalog. The well forested area where the falls are located is a perfect place to cool down after a long day of swimming with the whale sharks.
This five-tier waterfall is located in the neighboring town of Samboan. The top of the falls can only be reached by scaling the limestone paths of the lower levels thru rushing water and pristine forested areas. It is the perfect adventure that will surely leave its mark on every visitor.
